re: cdma2000 Release A and sync channel (Addendum 3) status.

From a letter to 3GPP2 Steering Comittee (SC) from TSG-C Chair dated yesterday (June 14):

>> The following statements summarize the activity that has taken place to date within TSG-C with respect to SC Action 2002/03-01:

· SWG2.3 has developed text that provides a technical solution to the Sync Channel problem, and the SWG has reached consensus on approving that proposal as baseline text (which would be part of a point release to Revision A of the core air interface specifications).

· WG2 has been unable to reach unanimous agreement on approving the Sync Channel proposal as baseline text.

· The TSG-C plenary has yet to take action on the proposal. At our May meeting the TSG-C Chair asked if there was a motion to approve cdma2000 Release A-3. There was no motion made to approve cdma2000 Release A-3; therefore, no action was taken.

The chair directed that all Release A volumes be carried forward to the June meeting.

TSG-C takes its organizational responsibilities quite seriously, and we believe that we are doing everything possible to address SC Action 2002/03-01. However, the apparent lack of consensus within the TSG has so far prevented us from advancing the text to publication status. <<

I am a little confused by the date of this letter in relationship to the statement "the chair directed that all Release A volumes be carried forward to the June meeting" since the June meetings took place June 10 to 14 in Shenzhen, China.
