Hi Yorrike,

It's refreshing to read the intelligent words of an honest man. Thank you.

I agree with the entire thrust of your post. Hopefully, the first leg of the stool has been knocked out from under Enron today with the Andersen decision. Though Rusty Hardin will appeal, the public outrage should he prevail on appeal makes that highly unlikely, though not completely out of the question. Subverting justice and ethics is still a huge problem with the dominant forces in our society.

For example, the recently passed campaign finance reform that only got through Congress because of the Enron debacle is about to be gutted, subverted and sidestepped by the FEC. This is an outrage, where faceless bureaucrats cave in to craven and corrupt lobbyists for both of the major parties. This stuff needs to be exposed to the light of day because it is so rotten and so corrosive to the political process in this country.

Dick Grasso, of the NYSE seems to be setting the right tone for reform. I simply find Harvey "the snake" Pitt to be utterly disingenuous and a horrible man to have at the SEC for the present. He's not part of the solution, he's actively working to subvert reform, in spite of the double-speak he's been engaged in recently in the media.
