Hi Pat,

Re: We don't use Iraq's oil now but our oil companies may have their sights on it for the future.

Actually, over the past year U.S. imports of Iraqi crude have ranged from 650,000 to 1.2 MM bbl of crude per day. Excepting the month that Saddam turned of the spigot. Iraq is the #2 supplier of imported crude into the U.S. market.

It's also important to know that Halliburton traded with Iraq during Dick Cheney's reign as CEO of that firm. Technically, Halliburtion avoided violating sanctions of trade with Iraq by providing phony paperwork that sent the transactions through two foreign subsidiaries.

But super-patriot Dick Cheney unequivocally was trading with the enemy.

Re: Saddam and Osama - Again, it's vital for the American electorate to wake up to the fact that Saddam represents a modern secular Moslem state, while Osama represents a hyper-religious fundamentalist cult. Sort of like George Bush.

Philosophically, there is a bigger chasm between Saddam and Osama than there is between Osama and GWB.
