Hi All, Computer dummy here, please have mercy. Having a problem running scandisk. I get a message that something is writing to the disk which causes skandisk to restart. Is there a windows secret program/setting that tells me which programs are running at any given time, and how to stop the running program to stop writing to the disk? I tried running SD after a reboot without launching any programs/applications. I thought I disabled all the programs in the task bar. Stopped(disabled) the Task scheduler programs. Disabled Norton utilities and Internet security. Any help? TIA, steve
