she had always heard me talking about the "Little People"

This reminds me of my grandfather who years ago, thought the 'Commies' were coming to get him. We thought he was really weird as he'd go to the window, looking out and telling us to be careful..because they were there. Of course, this was 1960 and the threat of an unknown enemy was so foreign to us. But, he had lived through the fear of atomic war and for him I am sure the threat was real.

Now I think of the people who are older than us and afraid of terrorists and that their threats are even scarier for the elderly than they are for us.

I apologize to my Grampie if he ever thought that I was making fun of his real fears.
