Snowshoe, Jay is going to get a BIG surprise when my GSRS works with a bit of alchemy and phlogiston to produce heaps of Au. There's no need to go chasing it around space.

There is nothing special about gold. I just need to haul one proton out of mercury and I'm in business with gold! Lead would also do, but getting three protons out is a bit more tricky, because getting counter spins on 3 protons is uneconomic, even though lead is cheaper than mercury.

I can easily get my GSRS system to spin one proton up in reverse to get it to jump out of the mercury nucleus.

People think that producing Au like that breaches the laws of physics, but they also said that about what the company Au sells in Japan [CDMA 1xRTT cyberspace gadgets - au.kddi.com ].
