Re: Where was the edge of the Mendenhall when you were here, relative to the rock ridge?

Sorry, my memory has faded after 15 years. One winter we had some glorious cold weather without precipitation and Mendenhall Lake turned into a huge gorgeous skating rink. We could skate very close to the face of the glacier {see Gorp image below}. During summers, I was also able to scramble onto the glacier from below, unimpeded by a rock ridge.
