U.S. Should Use All Means to Oust Iraq's Hussein, Lawmakers Say
By Alex Canizares
Washington, June 16 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. must topple Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein either through covert action or by a military strike, senior lawmakers of both parties said.
Senators Joseph Biden, a Democrat, and John McCain, a Republican, said they supported President George W. Bush's executive order directing the CIA to step up a program to oust Hussein, including killing him if agents came under attack. If that fails, the U.S. military must do the job, they said.
``If Saddam Hussein is around five years from now we've failed,'' Biden, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said on CBS's ``Face the Nation'' program.
