Both of Mikey's hips were bad but the vet said he'd only do one because it was to hard on the dog to begin with. Anyway, the vet said he'd had to drill out the socket because it wasn't deep enough to take the new ball. He built it up with something that was to strengthen it as well and cut the bone so far above the knee in order for the new shaft to have enough room as to not break the bone if that makes any sense.

This vet that we used was the head of Orthopedics at Texas A & M. He as a real nice guy and we were very fortunate to get him to do the surgery.

Sometimes, it really does help to know the people who know the right people!
