Party Time,

The intent of Tony's words (as taken in context with the rest of his post) implies that small investors (Mom and Pop is a popular expression synonymous with small investors) were buying indiscriminately, without regard to fundamentals, perhaps following the words of some stock news letter writer, or some Internet guru. Tony's words did not literally mean to take money away from Mom and Pop. The implication is that he wasn't going to try and short something, simply to be short, especially in the face of indiscriminate buying by small potatoes investors. That's all he was saying. Nothing more was implied. Nothing sinister or evil or even distasteful in his words.
