He is, he's my best friend in the whole world! I couldn't ask for a better friend, two legged or four......seriously! He instinctly knows just what to do. When I had my surgery and came home, he knew to stay back behind me instead of infront which was how he always walked. If I got up in the middle of the night, I never had to worry about tripping over him because he always got up and nudged my husband to wake him up. I don't know how he did all the things he did because it was totally different than what he'd done in the past......he just seemed to "know"....
