Dan FYI <font color=blue>Computer Ads in the San Jose Mercury News:

Circuit City-
3 laptops (2 AMD and 1 Intel)
4 desktops (3 AMD and 1 Intel)
Total 5 AMD and 2 Intel

Fry's Electronics-
1 MB & CPU Combo (AMD)
1 laptop (AMD)
3 desktops (2 AMD and 1 Intel)
Total 4 AMD and 1 Intel

Office Depot-
5 desktops (4 AMD and 1 Intel)
2 laptops (AMD)
Total 6 AMD and 1 Intel

The only Intel House is Best Buy-
8 desktops (Intel)
3 laptops (2 Intel and 1 AMD)
Total 10 Intel and 1 AMD

All in all there are more AMD systems being advertised and 3 out of the 4 computer advertisers had more AMD systems being advertised than Intel ones. In fact, the biggest computer seller of them all (Fry's Electronics) advertised 4 AMD systems and only one Intel system. Companies advertise what is going to sell so that they get the most for their advertising dollars. I have been watching the papers every week and this AMD trend has been ongoing for a couple months now.

I tend to think that ASP's are going to be flat to down, however, I am starting to believe that processor volumes for AMD in Q2 will be at least flat from Q1. If so, AMD could very well turn a profit this quarter. Whether the profits start in Q2 or Q3, the red ink is behind AMD. It is all green from here! Yeah baby!!!!
