I see PPT is out in full force again this AM ahead of the numbers at 8:00 and 9:00. They really crack me up. Briefing also has a laughable headline this morning to explain the futures pump: S&P futures vs fair value: +6.0. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: +14.5. Investors/traders encouraged by late bounce Friday, positive action in European markets, and signs of reform at Qwest (i.e., resignation of CEO Joe Nacchio). U.S. World Cup victory also putting market in a better mood.
