Hi A.L.,

Cleverly argued, but my point was that with new cheapskate alternatives to the offering of T, FON and WCOM, they're going to suffer a meltdown of demand. Especially as more Attorney's General like Blumenthal of Connecticut and CBS's 60 Minutes expose the ugly underbelly of the telecom sector. The 60 Minutes segment last night said essentially that the telecom companies are frauds and it's really now just a game of caveat emptor in the wooly world of long distance.

Re: Get Cricket, get yammering.

In theory, it sounds great. The reality is that LWIN, and everyone else is bandwidth constrained to the point that profitability is squeezed tremendously.

Back to my demand notion, should LWIN get all the bandwidth it needs for a really robust nationwide system, the RBOCs would have to roll over and play dead. I know them better than that. The RBOCs will use their regulatory wile and lobbying acumen to maintain their landline networks as long as possible. The risk to allow upstarts like LWIN to steal landline customers is too great, the basic infrastructure of the PSTN is amortized over decades, letting its customer base slip away has grave implications for stability and robustness of the entire system.
