005 The live tale of a network install of RH 7.3 PART3 DAS_doihavem_eggonface

5.1 Well I was concerned about not having the licq-qt...rpm. So I decided to look on the net to see what goes on. I went to ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/7.3/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/
This is the path to directories the hold all the install files but not broken up into iso images. There I did find.
licq-qt-1.1.0-0.cvs20020416.1.i386.rpm

5.2 This made me rethink my initial assumptions. Well for some reason I though that valhalla-i386-disc3.iso was just the documentation iso. Well I created a mount point and mount valhalla-i386-disc3.iso. Well it contain the licq-qt-1.1.0-0.cvs20020416.1.i386.rpm file. So I have to cp disc3/RedHat/RPMS/* to DISK_1/RedHat/RPMS/

5.3 after this I'm confident that I can complete the install. I also found a good summary of what I described in earlier posts that I kinda guessed as the what I was supposed to do. redhat.com

5.4 started install at 8:30pm It took about 40 minutes. At the end of the install I created a bood floopy and rebooted. The system rebooted with know problems. The partition hde1 is root. The install choose an smp kernal as this is a dual P3 700 mHz motherboard. I was give a choice of text or graphical boot, I choose text.

5.5 I logged in as root and startx started X with a gnome window manager at the 1280x1024 resolution. To this point the install is very acceptable.
