The PCpitStop fix did the trick. I am back to my old speed on the wireless laptop - similar to my "wired" speed. I'll update the other nodes as time permits and test the connection speeds.

Are laptops being produced with built in wireless? I've assumed that one needed a wireless card add-on for current systems.
