index manipulation by hedge funds,

any thoughts on this?
saw a mention today on CNBC by the guy
from UBS as I recall, who talked about
how the hedge funds are so well capitalized
right now, that they are able to manipulate
the indexes (like the nasdaq, using ETFs like QQQ)
and exaggerate the volatility and the movements
for greater gains.

sure looked like what was happening to me especially on Friday,
with that sharp momentary drop to 26.20 and the sharp bounce which followed..
finance.yahoo.com

and a continuation with the bounce today.
and of course all perfectly timed with the slew of downgrades that hit Friday as well.

naz looks more and more like the penny stock trading environment all the time...
course a lot of em are true pennies by now I guess anyway..
and many more soon to be delisted to the OTC as well
