I don't think we should take that war of words between the PLO and US officials at face value... Basically, the Palestinians oppose the fence because, IMHO, it's a way for Israel to unilaterally draw the borders of the impending Palestinian state --and if Israel is allowed to proceed with her pet fence along the West Bank then... Jerusalem is next. The border issue must be a bilaterally negotiated issue, not an Israeli diktat under the guise of "Israel's security"...
