I agree with that. The tone with which that POV was expressed did sound cavalier. As usual, though, I'm inclined to give the librarians the benefit of the doubt.

Sometimes when we argue a point that we think is an important principle with people who don't seem willing to listen, we sound sterner or colder or more shrill on the subject than we might actually be. We might even leave the impression that we are supporting creeps when all we are doing is to try to get across a point. The point in this case is that it isn't the library's role to decide what kids or anyone else see while in a library. The opposition doesn't seem to accept that. As long as they don't, the librarians will continue to be firm and uncompromising.
