Certainly some teachers can inspire more than others. We've all had those teachers (and the other kind). But I don't see that it is the job of a teacher to motivate you to attend her class on Beowulf, or to motivate you to read it. Those are your responsibilities, IMO (I'm assuming an older student since elementary students wouldn't read Beowulf.)
