A-M-S, a three year bear would sure surprise me. I'm expecting at least six or seven years -- not of solid downward movement, of course, but along the lines of down-up-down-flat-flat-down-flat-up-flat-down-flat-flat-flat-etc...

Eventually, when the S&P 500 gets back to historical valuations (minus a premium for bearishness) we can start thinking about the next bull. Until then, IMHO, anybody who wants to make money is going to have to be an awfully good stock picker or trade in and out, or both.
