Israel has no long term option other than negotiations between equals. They can't pull off negotiations the way that a father treats his 14-year old who wants driving lessons.

If the other side has the goal of destroying you its hard to find common ground for negotiation. It's also important to have someone to negotiate with. Someone who you think will negotiate in good faith, and who has the power to enforce the agreement.

As for negotiation of equals, what do you really mean by that. The two sides are not equal. It can be a negotiation of equals in the sense that the US might negotiate with North Korea or Syria about something and treat them seriously during the negotiations. If that is what you mean then it can be a "negotiation of equals", but it wont be a negotiation of equals in the sense that the two sides have roughly equal power.
