You have hit one of the important parts of the whole equation. In addition demand from new segments such as 802.1 semis and DVD are two of many examples which are accelerating, while some traditional leadership areas are suffering.

There are many on this thread who suggest that the market be sold and are doing just that, it's built in, some have become hard wired to the trend. Taiwan Semi had some good numbers and an announcement recently as did ESST today, guiding still higher, yet more than 50% of the float is sold short.

That in itself says there is a disconnect between knowing whats happening and what isnt. It's easier to declare everything a disaster and hope the trend provides a swell to cover for bad judgement. This permits Mr Market to commit his favorite form of larceny under the cover of the apparent trend. Short for accumulation against a backdrop of uncertainty, or if you prefer; Paint the entire market with one brush and pretend no one will notice.

In summary; Stalk this bear, but do so knowingly.
