By day trading on margin and averaging down I've managed to get my average cost per share down to $7.84. My first purchase was at 10 3/4. I'm up to 10K shares now, which is more than I had planned to own when I first got in. Other than taking a loss and hoping to find a better investment, averaging down then up is the only system I've found to keep from getting too far behind.

Another day or two and all the stocks that I thought were too expensive to buy last week will start to tumble again. There really isn't anything else I'd be interested in buying right now. Since I follow Novell as close as I do, I have a little better feel for what it will probably do short term. 7 3/8 to 7 1/2 shouldn't be any problem sometime in the next week or so. I plan to average up then back down again on the next drop. Not as much fun as sitting on a profit and watching 1000 share blocks go across at ask all day, but it IS interesting. $20 commission and .03 spread makes it pretty easy to get in and out of. Maybe I don't have good sense, but I like my dog.

Good luck everyone.

Don
