Ted, INTC's "warning" was a miss of a few hundred million dollars. Maybe more, but that's still a small percentage of Intel's total revenue. Ignoring the overly optimistic guidance in the April CC, the drop is no more than seasonal to me.
I don't see any sign inside Intel that we're battening down the hatches. My guess is that it's still business as usual. Was that what you wanted to know? If so, then I think it's sometime in Q3 when things start to pick up, at least seasonally.
<I just read over on the mod thread where Kap is blaming Jerry for this latest debacle. As if, Sanders or INTC or anyone can control the markets.>
Kap didn't say that. He said that AMD has a history of screwing over its shareholders. When times are good, no one cares because everyone wins, but when times are bad, Jerry and his cohorts make out like a bandit, leaving the shareholders high and dry.
Remember 1999, when Atiq Raza said, "Profits are a good deodorant, but we stink"? (Just a quick search on this thread turned up this post of mine: Message 12175377 ) I think it's deja vu all over again. Interesting, no?
