(1) The Native Americans have full rights all over the US. That includes the right to live in any city they want to, join the military, be hired by the government, etc. If the US were, for example, still trying to force Indians to live on reservations (or outside New York City), we'd be have parades, then demonstrations, then riots, then civil unrest, then small scale rebellion, and if it lasted long enough, yes, we'd get suicide bombers here too.

This rosy sounding scenario doesn't correspond to what I've been told by a friend who's done charity work on reservations. He tells me that Native Americans have the highest rates of unemployment, poverty and disease of any ethnic minority in the country. By any objective measure, they are on the bottom rung of the scale. Some 1/4 or 1/5 of all remaining Native Americans still live on reservations, out of sight and out of mind.

Now it's true there are some gaming houses run by Indians, but it's equally true that some of Arafat's associates in the PLO have made themselves millionaires in US$ by controlling all commerce from Israel to the Gaza strip, so this doesn't generally prove anything.
