Hi Robert,

Many hard drives today have the information printed on a label fixed to the hard drive. Of course, you can get the information from the hard drive mfg website. Get the model number either fro the CMOS bootup information or remove the hard drive and read the label. You need no. of cylinders, no. of heads, no. of sectors for the method of reading a hard drive that your PC employs. Many PCs use a translation technique to read the drive. For example, the drive may physically have 16 heads but if your PC uses translation, it might want to simulate your drive to have 55 heads.
