I am not interested in giving people "attitude" grades. Also, I cannot understand how the bell curve can apply to a roughly homogeneous group, which is the result of tracking. Perhaps it is my problem, having not had a formal probability and statistics course. Nevertheless, I am making a limited point, which is that we can gauge how well people are learning the material, and that have some idea of what should be covered in various courses by this time. If it is organized properly, it seems to me that the difference between an A student and a C student should be the amount of effort put in to master the material.......
