Alternative theory is they are being investigated for colluding to keep prices up around the time the Hynix deal was being discussed.

Faber's theory shouldn't hit prices, as it would mean the low chip prices are artificial and hide some stronger than believed demand (yeah right).

The rise in DRAM prices a few months back had no cause I could see, end user demand was going down, there were no significant cuts in output and potential supply was increasing due to smaller geometries and larger wafers.
