It is very similar to the Nikkei bubble burst that in 1990 which went from 40,000 to 16,000 in late 1992. It was followed by 2 years of hope and grope for recovery as it traded in the 15,000 to 22,000 range through year 2000. It then collapsed along with S&P from 20,000 in mid year 2000 to around 10,000 at the present.
