You could try to use the same argument to get securities brokers or, even, used car salesmen off the hook. The fact is that brokers are salespeople, so there will be a bias. I agree that it is the buyer's responsibility to be informed, so they should realize the motivation of brokers in all fields. In fact, even buyer brokers in real estate have conflicts of interest when it comes to representing the interests of the buyers they represent.
