You answered this question in a previous post: RSYS is not a software co. Albeit its interests in embedded applications (selling various chips), Intel itself is out of embedded business by selling RSYS Multibus as well as RTOS iRMS. Both are in decline and out of date. What RSYS gained is customer base, not so much of technology.

Fast forward to now. When Intel needs a RTOS with capability of supporting I2O, it's natural for it to go with current leader: WIND.
