St. Louis has always had some of the very best broadcasters. When I was a kid, I used to listen to ballgames from throughout the Midwest on my AM radio (this was before Cable TV and ESPN and all that)...... Harry Caray and Jack Buck would broadcast the Cardinals on KMOX, Ernie Harwell would broadcast the Tigers on WJR in Detroit (he is still around and I think he still broadcasts some games), and the young Bob Costas would do a nightly sports wrap up show on KMOX. Costas must have been around 20 years old back then.....Caray moved to Chicago in the 70's, but Buck was always there ..... No matter who replaces these guys, they are never replaced.
