<Paul Otellini, speaking at a meeting in New York earlier today, said Intel's future was firmly in the Itanium camp and he confirmed earlier INQUIRER reports that Madison is slated for next year and will include 3MB and 6MB caches. It is already testing Madison, according to the report on news.com.> More FUD. Intel must be nervous because this is a long way (a real real real long way) away from their policy on not commenting about future products. If Madison is just around the corner then why would a company spend $40,000 + on a 4 way Itanium 2 now. They are most definitely cannibalizing sales. These comments may only lead companies to wait until next year to evaluate both platforms. Therefore opening the door for AMD.
