IDTI has better positioned their embedded communications processor to participate in WLAN and DSL router/AP/gateway markets. This is a good move. I think they should do a deal with one or more of the 802.11/802.16a fabless chip design houses and maybe come out with an integrated wireless chip/communications processor product line. Intel plans to incorporate wireless and more communications functions into their processors and MB logic chip sets for PC, PDA and embedded applications. IDTI should be able to be cost competitive and ahead of the game. Intel will probably legitimize the integrated architecture approach . . . so IDTI can more cost effectively compete against them in an expanding market.
