Robert, Digiphone 1.x works.. kind of!
It does allow one to communicate using the web to carry the data. Voice quality and features are woefully lacking when compared to even the worst of the genre, and other companies are giving the stuff away!!

I don't have a clue about the Digiphone 2.0, that was promised to be shipping in December 1996. Neither do many people. It was demoed at a Show in Atlanta in the beginning of June. As I mentioned, I have learned not to trust Camelot demoes. After they admitted to having a T1 and specially prepped machines to even get Digiphone to work at certain previous shows... and would only contact their home office with another similar setup...

I really think that they have gotten too far behind to ever be a real player in the VON market.

But put aside VON for a moment. The got involved in video tape distribution for awhile. It went bankrupt. Their MR-CDROM business failed miserably because of managements inability to read the market. All indications are that Camelot Internet Access Service is losing money. If one looks at history, they will notice that Camelot has yet to do anything profitable. In short, while Camelot management might be adept at playing games with stock transfers and delusional press releases, they just don't seem to know how to run a profitable business.

Keep in mind that Camelot is a holding company. You don't buy stock in Third Planet Publishing (Digiphone), you buy it in all of their unprofitable businesses.

What will kill you on your .18 investment, is when the 40 for 1 split is done, and the stock returns to it's present levels... and unless something fundamentally changes, (like a new management team) it probably will. It might well be a good short though <GG>
