9:20 (Dow Jones) Arnhold's John Roque says there have been 27 bear markets in the DJIA since 1900, and the current Nasdaq bear market is worse than all but one on a percentage basis and worse than all but nine on a calendar basis. His response to the those who say that means we have to be close to the end? "Investors have been calling, repeatedly and vociferously, for an end to the Nasdaq bear market for quite a while and they haven't been right yet," he says. What's more, while the Nasdaq's drop is second only to the 1929-32 period (70% decline vs. 89%), he says that's the correct comparison because leading up to that period, like 1998-2000, was a bubble. I wonder, when John Roque goes home at night, does he live in a protected encampment? Something like a ... I'm not going to say it.
