I could not agree more with the reff.... I have been for a long long time, tired of the diving BS (mainly Italians and Argentineans... --but others as well, they just were the best at the drama --small wonder) That is one of the reason I've liked the European type of strong play --and I do not mean "northern" European, George, -gg, (but certainly not as much as like the Brasilian style); in the strong play... you can SEE the intent (clean and strictly for the ball), unlike the falling like a rag doll... and then instants later kick the opponent. This new attitude by the reffs is great for the sport ! (I hope they do not over-do it and ignore real foul play)... It will force the players to play and not act, that is, assuming they want to win. I have seen the Italian team (1970) defeat the Germans in the best soccer match I have ever seen, and there is no reason in the world the Italians could not play like that again... It is the prima donnas and ballerinas that I do not want to see again... ...and all this drama afterwards... pleaaaaseeee if I want to see drama and wailing.... I'll go to the opera, better performance and excellent singing... Until Italy reforms and behaves, I will repeat that the Italians went home looking like a truckload of piglets on their way to castration... LOL !
