Very good points Dan. Thanks for post that info. However, in April when the stock was just under $8 what was the reason for buying?

CIEN warned and the stock took a hit. Keep in mind that the company said. What has to change for the price to stop going down? or better yet rise? If we could discuss the Z port holdings for a moment, how long will it take for CIEN to reach 10? Even if the stock DOUBLES from here in the next 6-12 months that position is still down 22%. CIEN is a lossed cause for the fore seeable future.

to answer your question:

"The question is would you sell a company for less than it's worth just because they say that their outlook for the next few months isn't good?"

yes, infact I would have alreay been out long ago based on techincals and the fact NOTHING in the market was going to make the stock move higher. Prime example of how stops prevent major losses.

My guess(from my own experience) that when a stock drops soo much and i'm down sooo much i wait til the stock goes back to b.e. then sell. why? i fear the stock price won't hold and I'm glad to be out of a losing position. all the waiting for nothing.
