WESTBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 1997--Data General
Corporation announced today that James D. Bruning has been named
general manager of the company's McLean, Virginia-based Federal
Division.
Mr. Bruning joins Data General from Amdahl Corporation where he
has worked for the past 13 years, most recently serving as director
of Worldwide Channel Operations.
Prior to that he served in several
senior Federal sales management positions including vice president of
Amdahl's Federal Region.
Before joining Amdahl, Mr. Bruning spent 16 years with System
Development Corporation, a major federal government integrator.
"Jim Bruning is a true professional with a solid record of
success in developing new markets and exceeding sales objectives in
the Federal arena," said Tony DiBona, vice president of Eastern
Operations for Data General. "We look forward to his leadership in
implementing strategic sales and marketing initiatives to grow our
Federal business."
Data General already has a strong presence in the Federal
marketplace with the State Department, the Department of Labor, the
Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community included among
its many customers.

product lines have great appeal among government computer users,"

recently with the introduction of high-end systems based on advanced
