I believe after meeting and conversing with Bill Gates, he did finally buy some Microsoft stock. Like Duke said, I heard that Buffett bought 100 shares of MSFT. Although I have never heard him say this, I have heard some speculation that Buffett didn't like tech because it was by nature something that was hard to achieve a franchise in. Ironically, there have been some excellent franchises built in technology including, some might say, Intel.
