GZ,
Funny you mention the Nazis in regard to the Palestinians. Grand Mufti (Haj Amin al-Husseini) was the preeminent agitator of the bloodiest Arab assaults on Jews in the first half of the 1900’s. No one ever had such influence over the PLO leadership than he did. Mufti’s clan in Palestine founded the Palestinian Arab party, which was based on the Nazi model. In fact, the youth division was briefly called the Nazi Scouts.
However, it is not surprising to know that Palestinians supported and were great Nazi backers.
Arafat has referred to Mufti as his mentor and guide. He was related to the Mufti by both being members of the Al-Qidwah branch of the Husseini clan. In addition, another interesting piece of trivia is that Arafat himself, to enhance his anti-Jewish image, took the name Yasser (Abed al-Rahman was his real name). This was in memory of Yasser al-Birah, a leader of the Mufti’s reign of terror in the 1930s.
Psst, don't tell anyone, but I could see a guy like Arafat really wanting to make peace with the Jews, the more I get to know him...lol!
God Bless, IGIT |
