HDTV is the killer application that the hi-tech industries have been waiting for years. With MSO starts to offer HDTV, the programs will be watched by much more TV viewers. HLIT is the major player in the HDTV upgrading process, of course. It will be like cell phone adoption, or avalanches if you want -- when everyone is calling by cell phone, you have to get one, too. It won't be too long when everyone is upgrading their TV sets.
