Confession: For sometime I lay there drifting in and out of consciousness or maybe it would be more accurate to say different levels of consciousness. There was some pain but mostly I guess I would have to describe it as a growing discomfort. In any event, it had become nearly unbareable. So, with the little will I could muster, I began a sort of a groping crawl. I new I could make it if I didn’t once again collapse into a heap as I had done on two previous attempts. I made it across the awkward piles strune about before me. It was only a matter of 20 or thirty feet, and once I made the commitment my confidence seemed to grow. The discomfort had become unbareable. I found relief at the nearest commode.

I made it to the kitchen and somehow prepared the coffee pot. Knowing I would then have a couple of minutes to dose on the couch until the final perk was complete helped to motivate this task. A few minutes later and with a couple of cups now warming my tummy, I found myself on the balconey with the morning cocktale of birdseed in hand. They were ready for me. I could hear several tweedle dees in the nearby giant blue spruce. I noticed a droopy daffodil, so I’m quick as a rabbit in and out with my bucket of fresh water.

Now on the couch again I can see the finches (always first to arrive) and the flowers which have some new growth on them since I last made my observations (yesterday morning). The morning news is promising some rain later today. Ah, what a great day to be alive I’m thinking, as I began my third cup of coffee.
