It's easy to get your chart to begin with the date of your choice using the "date range" feature from the "time" drop-down menu. Simply specify the first date you want to display, leave the last date as current, then zoom all the way out. You can change the initial date as often as you want, and then cancel the effect by re-"submit". Admittedly, this is not as clean a solution as being able to drag a zoom box on your screen and have it re-display, but many of us might not like the zoom-in/out buttons to change the display one day at a time. Anyway, this technique may serve for you on daily/weekly charts. Hope this helps.

The reason for the last request is that a lot of charts I am seeing right now that have fallen hard during the market decline start to appear as a flatline when you include all of the old price highs and it is much easier to view the chart and get a good idea of what is going on if you can fine tune the zoom so the prices become viewable just at the completion of the major price decline or just slightly before that point.Often times when I try to zoom out to that point, the zoom takes in too much of the higher price range and causes the overall price chart to appear too flat to discern any patterns. This improvement would be most useful on the weekly and daily chart view."
