Co expects to meet or exceed the high end of the previously announced range for Q3 of $0.21-$0.23 (Multex consensus $0.22). QCOM also expects to achieve or exceed the high end of its previous guidance of 15-16 mln MSM phone chip shipments. In addition, co stated that it is experiencing strong order input for Q4.

07:21 ET QCOM Qualcomm cut to Mkt Perform from Buy at BofA (26.33)
Banc of America Sec downgrades to MKT PERFORM from Buy to reflect the potential risk of subsidy reductions spreading to the U.S. market. While not lowering numbers at this time, firm has become less comfortable with its CY03 earnings est. of $1.15.
