You have to look at the trend, Jay, not focus on the data point. We're at an inflection point in the tech trend when Qualcomm can come up with something positive to say about earnings. You make a valid point regarding "special costs," but at some point the last body from the last two year's carnage will be buried and these one time charges will cease. As to reducing future guidance, that's called "managing expectations". "Buy when there's blood in the streets"...John Templeton Few can do this. Being part of the herd is just too comfortable.
