Balasore, April 28: Indian and Russian defence scientists on Sunday successfully flight-tested a supersonic cruise missile Brahmos with a range of around 300 km from the Interim Test Range (ITR).
Brahmos, which operates on a fire-and-forget principle, was launched on a clear weather at 11.05 am from the launch complex No 3 of the ITR, about 15 km from Balasore.
India test-fires anti-tank Nag missiles
Balasore, June 21: Two indigenously developed anti-tank guided missiles Nag were successfully test-fired from the Interim Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea, about 15 km from Balasore on Friday.
According to ITR sources, the missiles were test fired from special containers in a clear sunny weather condition to establish their advanced manoeuvrability and top attack trajectory along with other parameters.
More tests of Danush missiles will be carried out: India
New Delhi, February 17, 2002: Buoyed by a successful test firing of the Trishul missile in sea skimming and anti-missile role after a series of failures, Defence scientists have revived and are preparing for a series of test trials of the ship-launched Danush missiles to give the navy capability to strike land targets with nuclear or conventional warheads.
Agni's strike range to be increased
Bangalore, February 5: India is planning to increase the strike range of Agni ballistic missile, a top defence official indicated on Tuesday. "We always have plans to increase the range.... reduce the weight and get better systems.... it's part of the development", Dr V. K. Aatre, scientific advisor to Defence Minister, told reporters in Bangalore.
Naval version of Trishul successfully test fired
New Delhi, January 30: A naval version of short-range surface-to-air missile Trishul was successfully test-fired on January 28 and 29 at Kochi, it was officially announced in New Delhi on Wednesday. |
