VSE Awarded GSA Schedule for Security System Solutions
PR NEWSWIRE - June 21, 2002 12:23
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jun 21, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- VSE Corporation (Nasdaq: VSEC) has been awarded a new General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule, FSC Group 539. Government customers can now take advantage of the ease of a GSA Schedule vehicle for procuring security systems software, hardware, and services including systems integration, installation, maintenance and training labor.

"This contract vehicle allows our government customers to access not only the systems integration expertise of VSE, but also the proven products they need to secure their operations and facilities in today's environment," said Tom Stallone, Vice President and Director of VSE's Telecommunications Technologies Group. "We have the ability to provide and support full-scope, turnkey security system solutions based on state of the art technology, all through a streamlined GSA Schedule process."

Vendors and products listed on VSE's GSA Schedule #539 include Lenel Systems International, Alvarado Security Gates, Talk-A-Phone, and Silent Witness Security Products. Lenel Systems does not sell directly to end users, making VSE a primary source for Lenel products through VSE's GSA Schedule. In its role as a systems integrator, VSE can manage all phases of a security project, from site surveys and definition and design requirements through vendor sourcing, system integration, installation, maintenance, and training services.

VSE's GSA Schedules are available as a preferred source of supply to all U.S. Government agencies and to States that outsource procurement to GSA. GSA Schedule contracting offers several advantages, including a streamlined acquisition process; best value source selection for physical security products and services; pre-negotiated prices, terms and conditions; a single total solution provider; domestic and international coverage; contractor partnering relationships via Blanket Purchasing Agreements; and integrated total solutions via Schedule Holders Teaming Arrangements.

VSE is negotiating initial orders for security systems with several agencies within the Department of Defense. For more information about VSE security products and services please contact Tom Stallone, 703-926-8204, e-mail: Stallone_Tom@vsecorp.com .
