I asked about RE because I think its going to crash here. Home values, I mean. Rents have already crashed. Its this mass exodus, everybody moving out. I also think California is going to have some rough deficits with all the unemployment which is either holding steady or appreciating here. But the rest of the state might carry us with the defense industry- kindof the opposite of what we had in the last recession? I don't know- just thinking out loud here. A housing crash here just means houses are not as ridiculously overvalued as they once were, not that things are going to be cheap or anything. But my neighbors were both laid off and their mortgage is 4500/mo. They had plenty of money but chose to keep it in the mkts where it could be put to better use than paying off the house. You know that story- tons of people like that around here.
